We could not be more excited to welcome in the Spring and set our sights clearly on what is shaping up to be a fantastic Summer season.  It is high time that we pull out the swim suits and once again sing praise to the guy who invented the elastic waist band.  The pool is being filled as we speak and your Board has been hard at work ensuring it will be ready to receive come Memorial Day weekend.  Our Dive, Tennis, and Swim programs are up and running ready to launch our Flyers into action.  Additionally, we will be offering a Masters Swim option this Summer for our members who prefer to get some laps in early in the morning before the day’s events eclipse those efforts.

At our Annual Meeting this past March, we elected a new Board of Directors per our By-Laws and welcome Jeff Cashman to the ranks!  Jeff will be replacing Marc Broderick who served us all well over the past two years.  A big thank you to Marc from all of us for stepping up, providing sound judgement, and a strong back! Additionally and in the same vein, I must step down as President and make way for new leadership.  We are all most fortunate in that Kurt Ilgenfritz agreed to take on this role.  Kurt has been on the Board for the past several years serving as both Vice President and Director of Swim.  He brings with him a ton of fantastic ideas and organizational skills that we have not seen since Amy Rider turned over this post!  With Kurt’s role changing, Sydney Sawyer steps up to Vice President yet still retains her role as Director of Dive.  An extremely talented and strong “one-two punch”!  For a complete listing of assignments of your Board please visit our website, www.fsstc.com, and click on the “+” sign located in the top right corner to reveal our menu items which includes “About FSSTC” and your current Board members.

I enjoyed the past couple of years immensely, bathroom cleaning aside, as this “job” provided a venue by which I could meet so many people that I may not have had the opportunity to meet. We have an amazing array of members whose interests and experiences literally span the globe and all it takes is a bit of investment on each of our parts to tap into those friendships and create new experiences.  I look forward to supporting the Club and the Board once again but this time as Secretary.  With that, our guidance remains unchanged…let’s once again get ready to sprint through the months ahead with the hope that come September we collapse on the couch, exhausted, and grinning ear to ear as we recall our Summer shinanigans!  Cheers!

Our 2012 Annual Meeting for our Regular Members will be held March 27th from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fairview Elementary School’s cafeteria.  Our Notice of Annual Meeting is being sent out to our Regular Members via US Postal Service the weekend of March 17th.  If you are unable to attend, please submit your Proxy which will be enclosed in the Notice of Annual Meeting.
